COM3D and GASFLOW are computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software tools suitable for simulation of gas distribution and turbulent and reactive flows. These codes are being developed at the Institute for Nuclear and Energy Technologies (IKET) in the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

The GASFLOW code can model the gas distribution and mixing processes in geometrically complex facilities with multiple compartments and internal structures. It can simulate the effects of two-phase dynamics with the homogeneous equilibrium model, two- phase heat transfer to walls and internal structures, chemical kinetics, catalytic recombiners, and fluid turbulence.

The turbulent reactive flow code COM3D is intended to model development of large-scale combustion including explosion and detonation, transport, and mixing of hydrogen in geometrically complex environment with multiple compartments and internal structures in a multi-block computational domain.
